The market is flooded with styles and makes of golf balls. Golf ball manufacturers do, however, have regulations that they must abide by in the manufacturing of their golf balls which is the size and weight of the golf balls

Golf balls are a round, diameter shape balls that according to rule, must meet the standards of being at least 42.67 millimeters or 1,680 inches in diameter.
Because smaller balls have the tendency to fly further and have less resistance than larger balls most manufacturers of golf balls produce the smallest size allowable.

The weight of the golf ball is the next regulated rule that golf ball manufacturers must follow. A golf ball must not exceed a weight of 45.93 grams or 1,620 ounces. Most golf ball manufacturers will produce the maximum allowed weight due to the heavier balls flying further with less air resistance.

Knowing the size and weight of the golf ball can help you in your game such as those players with a higher handicap can take advantage of the balls that weigh more and are the smallest in size go further through the air. While those flashy balls may make your game look more attractive the proper size and weight will make you have a better game
